While the job has been underway (and I’m loving it!), it feels as though the rest of life is a bit stagnant. Lovie and I are definitely working on our patience as we feel like time is passing us by. I know God has a plan for us and the Universe needs time for things to get in place. But really, we are ready.
We’ve been getting the itch to be on our own again. We moved in with mom & dad until I found a job and to help as caretakers for Grandma. She’s now in assisted living, and my job has been on the run for a few months now. The itch is there. We have been browsing at houses, and met with our realtor. Now just waiting for a couple more things, then to pass ‘Go’.
Until the time comes to get our own place again, we are working on budgets, saving, and paying off debt. A revisit to Dave Ramsey and his Seven Baby Steps
. It is so inspiring to read the stories of others, and to know we could be free of this debt soon! We know it won’t be instantaneous, but we vow to stick to it and “live like no one else, so later we can live like no one else”. Time to live on our beer budgets – light beer at that. If you haven’t heard of Dave Ramsey, check out his website
. He has some good, Christian based financial tips and advice, and a great seminar – Financial Peace University. Check him out!
*disclaimer: I am not receiving benefit to mention Dave Ramsey or his ideas. It has been very beneficial and helpful for me and I want to share the knowledge with you all.
I also found this great blog – Budgets are Sexy – by J.Money. I mean, come on…who doesn’t love the name! J.Money has been blogging there for over 5 years, and there is scads of financial tips, tricks, and whips. Check it out too.
So apparently this is taking a bit of a budgeting/financial turn at the moment. Eh, when it’s on the mind, there she blows!
Until next time…
