Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating far and near! And Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish family and friends as they celebrate the first night of the Festival of Lights!
Unfortunately plans in this household have been altered for this day of thanks as the winter crud has struck. 5 of the 7 of us have been hit, womp womp. J and I were supposed to be up early with my brother and sister-in-law to head into the city for our very first go at the Turkey Trot 5k. Well, three of us are down with the crud (here’s to wishing J doesn’t get it!). That also means that one of my 30 Before Thirty items won’t get checked off, but what can you do? We will just have to try again next year.
Then onto Thanksgiving lunch with my family, which may get postponed. And J and I will be missing out on Thanksgiving and the first night of Hanukkah with his family.
Despite the cruddy timing (okay, my attempt to try and be funny now that I’m feeling a wee bit better), I am very thankful for the day off and time to spend strengthening our family bonds. Even if it is over warmed up soup, crackers and water. Family is family, and I am so thankful to have them!
