Fit into my wedding dress (I have a wee bit to lose after gaining it back after surgery)  Not quite yet.

Monthly Wishes :: July

Is it really July already?!?  I can remember back to April and May wishing for summer to come along, and here it is almost July 4th.  And rainy and wet.  June was the second wettest June in Minnesota since the late 1800s – no wonder we have many roads and cities flooded.

Since a new month is upon us, it is time for the Monthly Wishes session.  First, lets review my June wishes:

• June Wishes •

Head back to work after wrist surgery!  – Done!

Stay under budget and throw everything left at debt!  – Done!

→ Tackle the “21 Day Fix” once it comes in the mail.  – Didn’t get done, had a few complications with the wrist, so worked to get that under control before starting on this one.

One Caribou coffee drink a week. Done!  (Minus my FREE drink on my birthday!)

Have a great time celebrating the big 3-0!  – Done!  And quite a fabulous one it was!

Monthly Wishes :: June

Welcome June!  Welcome Summer!  Welcome heat (and rain)!  It is finally warm, and green, and the sun is shining!

I know I’ve been missing for a little while, but I think I am finally back.  Surgery went well, I’ve started physical therapy, and head back to work tomorrow.  You’ve been able to watch some of the progress if you follow my Instagram.  I am finally feeling like life can go back to normal – or at least the current normal.  I missed May Wishes, but let’s get on with some wishes for June, shall we?

Hello April!  Already?  Are you sure, because it really doesn’t feel like spring outside, and doesn’t spring usually come in April?  As usual, Mother Nature wanted to give us all a great April Fool’s gift and had it snow yesterday.

Before I get into my wishes for the month of April, let’s take a look back at how March went:

• March Wishes •

→  Finish getting everything together for taxes and press submit! – ergh…not quite, but I will be finishing that tonight!

→  Set 15 minutes aside each day for quiet time. done!  And it has been nice, usually at the end of the day before bed – a time to quiet the mind before resting my head.

→  Celebrate J’s month with him!  And plan a little something for his birthday on the 30th. And a wonderful month it was!

→  Finalize time, order invites, and start projects for the wedding.Done, done, and done!  Invites have been received, and addressing has begun!  Projects are well on their way.

→  Stay under budget and throw everything left at debt! – well, that was a big fat disappointment, and I didn’t do so well on this one.  I am back on the wagon this month though.

→ Walk at least 1.5 miles a day since it’s about all I can do for working out at the moment.

Monthly Wishes :: March

20140303-124102.jpg

Hello March!  Already?  You would guess so if you looked outside, but you would be soon informed if you stepped in our house that it was March.  In fact, J’s birthday month!  His birthday isn’t until the 30th, but he has declared the month as his (saying he’ll share it with Grandma, Mom and our sister-in-law who are also all March birthdays).

Along with the declaration of a new month, I’m jumping onboard with my Monthly Wishes list!  It’s been a while since I’ve done these, but not better time than the present.  So off we go!

Vision board

I am a visual person, so it only makes sense for me to make a vision board for the upcoming year.

I gathered some old magazines that we had sitting around the house, a pair of scissors, a quilt to cuddle under, and began the search for images and words to include.  I cut and ripped, and had too many for this years board, so I have started a little folder with the left-overs for next year.

It didn’t take too long to find enough words/phrases.  I grabbed an extra piece of mat board from framing I’ve done over the past few days, and got to work.  When I look at my finished board, I get excited for what this year will bring!  I am inspired and encouraged by my goals that I have set.

I included items for fitness goals, our wedding and honeymoon this year, goals to become more organized, and plans to share more of God with others.  I look forward to all this year has to offer!
